Dear Friends,
Last night several good friends from Sandals church in Riverside, California arrrived for a short visit. We have enjoyed getting to know them since they first visited in March. They have planned several weekends with us this summer as they bring young people from their church to our campus to learn about missions and be exposed to cross-cultural ministry. One of our staff, Addie Horn asked them some questions about their time with us so far...

Addie: What have you been most challenged by here in Mexico?

Kelly: Being people-oriented, not worrying about what needs to get done but loving people by instinct rather than it being a task... even the people-oriented part (can) become a task - to be more concerned with relationships and talking with people rather than accomplishing a goal.

Addie: Just for fun - what is one of the things that you enjoy most about Mexico?

Michael: (laughing) Getting taunted by the kids (one of our friends, a 12 year old neighbor boy is making fun of him in the background).

I really enjoy the food culture and the friendliness of a majority of the people down here... (you are) walking by, and you can spark up a conversation.

Addie: Why has Sandals church decided to work with Baja Bible School?

Cristin: We are trying to change the view of (short-term) missions (at our church) into one of learning, spiritual formation, and discipleship so when we go to places like this we use it as a platform for growth and to encounter God as we learn from the people in these settings.

We ask you to pray as God leads students here this summer. Our board recently made a determination that we will start classes this coming September whether we have 5 students (our current number) or 50 students.

Praises and Prayer Requests:
Pray for BBS as we transition more from being a building project and short-term missions opportunity into a one-year school and up-and-running institution. Pray for God's spirit to lead us.

Praise for a new member of our campus community, Elena Sorensen - Director Ryan and Stephanie Sorensen's new baby daughter.

Pray for Dan Silver as he continues to speak with groups of students about Baja Bible School this summer.
