Spokane Painters
April 2008
Val Day first came to the Castillo last August with her church. She felt drawn back as soon as she saw the potential in the architecture and returned this April with four friends who belong to the same Northwest artists association. Together they worked hard to complete the vision she had months ago. The result of their seven days of labor is notable: they transformed the old brick dome into a mural with three scenes from the New Testament, put festive Mexican color in our future kitchen and food service rooms, glazed the walls and created a marble look on the columns of our future classroom, and finished the floor and warmed up the walls in the entry room. Their artistic talent is a great finish to the previous labor that has been poured into each room.
